A tangibly painful documentary about two Roma kids who live on Parisian streets and have to grapple with homelessness and an abusive alcoholic father while simply trying to grow up. This film completely changed the way I approach documentary filmmaking. Learning that the film director became a foster parent for the main characters made me reassess the way I view an artist’s relationship to the art. I remain in utter awe. Watch this, and then look Nuguet up.
