N IS FOR NIGERIA and U IS FOR UNITED KINGDOM

I have ridiculously vast interests so I don’t normally go checking out what people I’ve loved in the past are up to right now. I do, however, from time to time look for updates in Thora Birch’s career (she’s a fellow talented weirdo from a dysfunctional family) and look for O. Children’s new releases. I was destined to love a band named after one of my favorite Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds songs and influenced by Bauhaus. But O. Children were also the sound track to my time living in London. I even went to see them at XOYO and Tobi O’Kandi, the Nigerian frontman of staggering height, raw sexual beauty and vocals that still reverberate through my gills, was absolutely unforgettable. He is currently bitching about Kanye on Twitter so why not sing about it? Please make more music, guys, I need more beautiful creepiness in my life.

PS: People usually love the other album more than this one but I’ll go with Apnea.
