Have you been to our website lately?

We now have a fantastic tool, which makes browsing the world through art and culture easier.

Just go on Supamodu.com, select your continent, and then click on the plus sign to unroll a list of all of its territories.

Or, if you want all of the world’s territories at once, scroll to the bottom of the main page: and voila!

Also, each country’s page now has a nifty map. So if you’re feeling especially patriotic, or looking to invite someone on a virtual adventure, send them a link. Where will you go?

Or, if you need inspiration, this week, our collection of reviews is centered around new ways of looking at familiar things.

Here is the map with a whole lot of marvellous places, where we discovered new perspectives:

Are you watching Drag Race? The finale is coming up. We at Supamodu are always big fans of international drag queens. This season has been particularly abundant: the Iranian trailblazer comedienne Jackie Coxthe French fashion queen Nicky Doll, and the Pacific Islander legend Brita Filter. Sad that they’re not in the top-three, but we have the right thing to quench our thirst for diversity in drag. “Black Divaz” is a documentary that follows the first Miss First Nations contest, where Aboriginal Australian and Torres Strait drag queens compete for the title. The format is similar to that of the TV show, but the competitions are exotic (there’s a live crocodile), the participants’ talents are unmatched, and the confessionals are a portal to the intersection of indigenous and queer identities.

A dazzling, empathic film follows six drag queens competing in Australia’s inaugural Miss First Nations contest, as they find empowerment and share vulnerabilities

Do you have a dog in your life? We’ve heard that self-isolating with dogs is much healthier because you continuously have a source of energy, affection, and serotonin. Whether you’ve been wondering lately what’s going on in that pensive nugget of your beloved pup, or just languidly looking at cute puppers on TikTok, “Los Reyes” will allow you to look at dogs from their level, not from above. In it, Football and Chola, two inhabitants of a skatepark in Santiago, Chile, are shown in all their scruffy glory, living the good life under the sun, as human life unwraps somewhere in the background and becomes one with the buzzing of the flies.

Two stray canines living at a Chilean skatepark are portrayed in their uninhibited dignity: an arresting film that dismantles the complexity of human institutes by throwing them to the dogs

Remember the pencil artists we told you about last week? Well, there’s more. We want to make sure that you never look at a pencil again without thinking what a depth of creative potential lies on its very tip. This time we’ll look at the works of a Crayola master who’s also a mom, a lawyer cum pop culture virtuoso, a young sculptor of fiery political conviction, and a plastics engineer who makes pencil gardens in his free time. And if that wasn’t enough, each of these fantastic artists is also carving their own cultural heritage into the miniatures, so prepare to see some Taiwanese, Tamil, and Bashkir delights—as well as the smallest Cristiano Ronaldo in the universe.

There is no topic that those micro sculptors with mad skills can’t pencil in: from Baby Yoda to endangered species, from complex engineering to the taboo of menstruation.

So, the options of journeys to take are multiple. Which ones will you take? It’s up to you!

And if by any chance you see that a territory you care about is missing from our website, but you have some great recommendations for books, art, music or films from there: drop us an email at team@supamodu.com

We love making discoveries, and who better to make recommendations than people who know a place intimately?

Just make sure that it’s something that we will be able to get our hands on.

And either way: happy travels this week. Just stay safe, as always.

Hope you enjoy Supamodu and feel compelled to forward this email to your friends.

Thank you for being with us! 💛
