I am madly in love with António Sanches’s music because it’s like nothing else on the planet, and makes me want to dance. Since beginning this project I have discovered that I have a weakness for African brutalist synthesizer music, and Sanches plays it just like that, while wailing along as if he’s leading a strange alien army to fight the world’s boredom via odd pirouettes. The only remote comparison that I can make is Soviet underground rock. And it just makes me so happy to know that places so remote actually have so much in common, like delirious music and catchy shouting.
