J IS FOR JAPAN
A short stop-motion animation film about the way the personal blends with the global when the environment is concerned. A pair of twins encounter nature on the precipice of collapse. It reminded me of the time I watched the Grave of Fireflies as a child and became traumatized. Or that Coil music video with the limbless doll. Really beautiful, creepy, unsettling, mesmerizing, and excruciatingly realistic, despite the fantasy setting.
