An alternative history, where Rasputin is the one doing purges instead of Stalin, with the use of technology
The art in this book is spectacular. I wish Denis Rodier illustrated a longer piece on Russia because he is so good at it and I really admire the research that he put into preparation. Baba Yaga, the uniforms, even fine china are all top-notch. And when he blended this research with creativity while working on the futuristic aspects of the narrative, the results were of Fritz Lang’s scope. The story was pretty awesome, too: a splendid swap of Stalin for Rasputin in 1934 with black magic serving the same purposes as black terror. I wish this was translated into Russian because you never see such awesomeness based on Russian history natively.
